Auto Display Off not working properly

Apr 6, 2007 8:47AM PDT

Hello,

I purchased my new laptop a few weeks ago and my problem has been bugging me since day one. I have a HP Pavilion dv9220us running Windows Vista Home Premium. It has the Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 video. If my screensaver is ACTIVE the Auto Display Off feature does not work afterwards. What happens is the display will turn off and go directly back on and sit at the desktop until screensaver activates again. However, if I disable the screensaver the Auto Display Off and Sleep modes will function properly. This problem is also occuring with most recent Windows Updates and without my Logitech V200 Cordless Mouse hooked up. I changed screensavers and some power management settings, still no success.

Another issue I am having is my screensaver still coming on during DVD playback using Quickplay or Windows Media. Both players have the screensaver OFF set during play.

Thank you for any response!
