Auto Dimming UE40B8050 200Hz

by jacobjust / June 30, 2009 9:53 PM PDT

hi everyone

I just bought the UE40B8050 200Hz in Denmark and im having major problems with the dimming feature.

Each time there is a dark scene it dims the light so much it is hard to se the image.

Anyone with a solution for this ?

No matter what setting i use or turn power saving off it is the same.

Also tried the new firmware with same result.

Auto dimming

many people including myself are complaining about this so called feature. I have read in other forms that it can be turned off by going into the service menu.

I know HDTech has inquired with Samsung about it but he has not posted back regarding what Samsung is going to do, if anything about this.

I own the 55 inch 7000 model, I live in the US and I have the same issue as you described.

Other than that I love the TV.

And I'll be staying on top of this issue. Sorry it's taking so long, but I'm still working on these dimming issues.

Samsung must release a firmware where they just take the setting for auto-dimming from service menu and puts it in the ordinary menu.

Even better if they put at setting in the ordinary menu where you can choose how much auto dimming you want from zero to todays value.
