Auto Dial

Feb 9, 2004 12:53AM PST

For some reason my modem auto dials my internet provider and I do not know how to stop that.
I have checked as many parameters as I can but I cannot find something to stop this.
Will you help me?

It goes nowhere, it just dialed and made connection and no browser or anything else opened. However after that, it stopped coming up again. I suppose it was just a happening.
Thanks

Strange, with your message my problem restarted and this morning my system autodialed again.
It happened right after boot up. No specific time. I have done nothing to my computer in the last days. The only thing that comes on the screen is the autodial window, nothing before, nothing during or after the autodial and connection. No browser is opening. I have an internal modem. Nothing found after running the latest Norton A/V, AdAware, Spybot. I have Zone Alarm installed with no problems.
Bugs me!

With reference to your initial post, you have not mentioned which/what 'parameters' you have checked, but try the following, which may stop auto-dial,

? In Control Panel, select "Internet Options".
? Under "Connection" select "Never dial a
a connection.
? Hit "OK".

but may not 'cure' your computer.

Have you ran the now famous Bob Profitt's "Parasite suite" ?

'Parasite suite' should be 'Anti-parasites Suite'
