Resolved Question

Auslogics Installer will not run

Nov 5, 2011 6:34AM PDT

Downloaded cnet disk-defrag-setup exec.exe to download new version of Auslogics Disk Defragger. When I OPEN it, I get:

Installer Error
Unable to initialize installer GUI

I am running XP SP3 with FireFox 7.0.1.

Older version of Auslogics is already installed and runs.

Yes, that occurs sometimes with our wrapper.

Better download directly from Auslogic: http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/download/
Don't click on the CNET button but use the 'directly from this website' link a few lines lower.
Problem solved and no unwanted software (some call it spyware) added to your PC, as done by the wrapper that (luckily) won't run.

Try a different way

Delete that Installer file. I suspect it might be CNET's own installer.

Return to the Download.com page where you found Auslogics and try, instead, the "Direct download" link.

See if that works.
