Given you want exactly "this", "that" on "this hardware" with "this interface" you have stepped away from off the shelf solutions and into a custom solution. My background is in engineering and software for DVR for surveillance so I can't guess why you want a custom system. Most folk install DVRs and get it done today.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any server side software like the likes of zoneminder that I am able to install on my server. I will have several, at the most 50 cameras that I need to monitor. I want to record audio as well. The thing is I want to the cameras placed in positions to record large waiting rooms. And the audio at the front desk. My first thought was to run audio cable from the audio in on camera to a mic and record as a mp4. I have been using zoneminder and it doesn't support audio. So here is my question.
Does anyone know of a LINUX based, server side, for opensource or purchase, that will handle video, stills, etc... but audio via SIP connected to a computer at the front desk?
I am having a hard time finding such software to run on my server. I would prefer to run as few cables as possible. Which is why I would prefer the video and sip. The server side software would need to be capable of syncing the two medias together.
