Audio/video input change when DVD turns on

Hello, hoping someone might be able to help. I have a Samsung HDTV, Samsung soundbar, Samsung Blue Ray and Dish Network. Everything works fine as far as Dish, but when I turn on the DVD player, the video input automatically changes (I have a separate HDMI running), but the audio input does not work. I have an HDMI running from the Blue Ray to the TV with an optical audio going from the soundbar to the Blue Ray. Matter of fact I get no audio from the soundbar to the Blue Ray. I have to change back to TV audio. Wondering if someone could help me with the correct setup. I had it working fine until I moved, so I know there is a solution. Many thanks.

For Samsung that's the port with equipment control (CEC, etc.)

To save back and forth there are BluRay players that play DVDs and folk that own both BluRay and DVD players so be careful in the details.
