Audio video out of sync after re-encoding???

Jul 29, 2008 2:26AM PDT

Hey! Hopefully, someone can help me with this. I've tried both Cyberlink's powerdirector and Nero 8 to re-encode a recorded tv show from my computer to a different type of file, MPEG-2. After converting it, however, the audio and video were out of sync with each other. This happened with both programs. Is there some setting I should change or something I can do to keep the audio and video in sync? I would be really, really grateful for any help or advice.

Specs are:
XP Pro SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz 1066mhz
4GB 800mhz RAM
EVGA 780i mobo
EVGA 8800GTX

This problem is still going on. As a pro editor I am sure it is a problem with the software. I have just spent all day on this nonsence. I will find another software program for the re-encoding.
