Audio Sample Rate

Jan 27, 2006 5:15PM PST

Is it possible to increase the audio sample rate? If it is possible cloud someone tell me what I would need to get to do this.

The reason is I bought a Sony Network Walkman 512MB MP3 player and I am having difficulty getting it to play mp3 files. I contacted the sony support and they told me that my mp3 player was not compatible with 22 kHz audio sample rate. I do have one mp3 player with an audio sample rate of 44 kHz and it works.

I need to know first if it is possible to increase it. If it is possible what do I need to get to do change it?

Thanks

Change it in what software, and do you have the source?

mp3 is a compressed format. Compressed files are not good things to use an input to a compression algorithm. If you have the source, you should be able to change the rate when you encode the mp3 file.
