I am trying to get the audio return channel functionality from my tv to work with my AVR. I have a Samsung UA55D6600 LED TV connected via HDMI port #2 (ARC) to the HDMI out port of my Pioneer VSX-922.
I have turned on Anynet on the TV and have configured my amplifier to accept audio return through the HDMI out port on the back of the receiver.
I can control the volume of the receiver with my TV remote and the Anynet volume bar appears at the bottom of the screen. The TV speakers cut out but no sound is coming through my AVR. I have updated firmware on my TV to the latest version from the samsung website and also update my AVR firmware to the latest version. I have also bought a new HDMI cable that is 1.4 compliant, high speed with ethernet and still no joy.
The AVR even seems to be automatically switching to the TV input, so it must be detecting something from the TV just no audio is coming through still. Are there any options that I could possibly be missing? I have scoured both the TV and AVR menus for anything I missed. Perhaps something in the service mode of the TV was disabled by the previous owner?
And yes I know I could run an optical cable but id like to try to get this working if possible.
