Clarification Request
Did you try restoring the OS? Drivers?

When I need drivers I go to Dell.com with that Service Tag.

I would discuss drivers but you didn't tell what OS and such detail.

Answer
Hi here is the solution

Hi,
My name is Kishan and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.
Since the hard drive was cleaned might be possible

Kindly let us know which operating system are you using?
Did you try reseating the speaker port ?
Do you get windows sound when you turn it on ?

Possible reason:-
Since the hard drive was cleaned might be possible the audio driver is missing
To find the audio driver you can type the command on
run window
Devmgmt.msc
And if you see there any yellow ,exclamation ,question mark there that means the driver is missing

How to install the driver
Visit www.support .dell.com
Home user support
Click on driver and download
Put the service tag(can be found at the back of the tower alpha numeric code on a bar coded sticker)
Click on submit
Choose the operating system
And click on audio
And click on download file
Restart the system

Thanks,
