audio problems

Jun 13, 2009 11:06AM PDT

I have Windows Xp and have no trouble with the audio listening to my music but when I try to listen to a short video on gardening or sewing for example the pictures are good but there is no sound.I have tried everything to sort this out but I am not very good at technical stuff so I have to appeal to you again for help. Thank you

Questions . . .

What media player are you using?

No sound or low sound. Have you moved the volume slider?

Have you double clicked the speaker icon in the tray and enabled all outputs?

audio

I guess I have Real but that is the only one I know. Sorry to be so vague. Right out of my comfort zone here.!!When I go into Sounds and audio devices it says there is no audio device and the whole page is blocked out. I cannot move anything.Yet I can play c.ds and it is only when I want to watch/listen to a you/ tube or video clip I have the problem.

You need to associate . . .
Jun 14, 2009 9:19PM PDT

all music/sound files with Real Player. It appears that some are associated with Windows Media player and some with Real Player. I suggest you use only one or the other. If you want to use Real Player you need to open it and somewhere should be preferences for sound files. Associate RP with all of them.
