Unless you center audio around a receiver almost all Samsungs (all I've encountered to date) turn off the speakers when that jack is used or optical out is turned on. However if you sent the optical to a receiver with speakers then that takes up the task.
This is well discussed with about half bursting into flames why Samsung designed it like that.
Call 1800SAMSUNG to see if yours has a setting you missed then move to exchange the set if it doesn't. Then you shop knowing the feature you need.
I have a Samsung (model ue32h6200swxxh) and I need an audio line out for headsets. There is one but it is fragile and the service representative recommends putting an extension in the connector but a jack is in the connector turns the speakers off.
I'd like to be able to use the TV's speakers and a headset at the same time. I can some speakers and I guess I can use a digital optical out and buy a digital to analog converter. I have to admit I am looking for an simple inexpensive solution that comes with the TV.
If you have an idea, I will thank you in advance
