Question

Audio out on LG 4k UHD TV

I use earphone to help me with tv audio while my wife watches it without....
I use the digital port (only one available for audio out on this TV).

All is ok while watching regular cable channels. If I switch to streaming channels (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc) I no longer get any sound from my earphones; sound from tv speaker is ok....
I noted that if I change the audio setting from digital and speaker to digital only, I get the sound from my earphones but my wife cannot hear anything!

I did not have this problem with my older TV, using RCA type connection for my earphone...

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Cut the cord and now can't use headset.

Maybe someone can help. Called Yamaha and they are closed for corporate holiday!
I have a V577 and an LG 4K. We recently got rid of cable and now just watch over the air TV. I am connected from my receiver to the TV through optical as I tried the ARC and got no sound. I did change the setting on both receiver and TV. My problem is that my husband who is close to deaf, uses a Sony wireless headset Before we cut the cord it was connected by optical. Receiver uses it now. We bought an optical splitter but no sound to headset. We tried the rca cables from headset to receiver...still nothing. Are we SOL? I did try the headset on another TV and it worked so it is not the TV. Anyone know any other solution other than my hiking up the volume and having me go deaf too? Thanks.

I don't see how this fits in this discussion. It looks like you buried a new question here. Simple rule. New question = new post.
