Question

Audio out

Aug 6, 2015 3:34AM PDT

I asked this question yesterday, but did such a poor job explaining that I thought I'd try again.

I have a tv model number ue32h6200awxxh. It has an 3.5 mm connector for head phones. This connector has two features. First, it is fragile and in two months have already had to have it replaced. The service repair man suggested I leave a male and female connector permanently connected. the problem with that is that a jack connected to this port causes the speakers to be turned off so that when you don't have a headphone connected there is no sound of any kind which is the second feature of this connector.

What I need is another analog audio port that is not so fragile and can toloerate the insertion and extraction of the 3.5 mm jack often.

All I've come up with so far is another set of speakers with a headphone jack to and use them as the tv speakers and the headphone jack.

Perhaps I could use digital audio out and a digital/analog signal converter, but I told that this dampens the TV speakers also.

If you have any suggestions or ideas to share, I will be grateful

I forgot to ask if it is reasonable to try to connect a bluetooth headset.

That I have done.

I plugged in a bluetooth audio transmitter to the jack on the TV and lucky me used one of the USB ports on the TV to power the transmitter. Paired up the headphone and done.

I still have a couple of questions and would ask you to be as specific as possible in describing the installation process. For example, I don't know what a "Bluetooth audio transmitter" is. I am assuming that the "jack"
on the TV" is the headphone jack. Also I am assuming that the device that is inserted in the usb port is a "normal" Bluetooth dongle. The Bluetooth I accustomed to include the Bluetooth enabled device (in this case a headset) and a usb dongle (radio). I'll do some research.

I am sorry to be pest about this but I'm strickly a newbie.

Thanks again. I really appreciate you help.

About the turning off of the TV speakers and cables.

First there are numerous audio cables with Y connections so you can overcome the fragile issue you noted. The Y cable would let you send the audio to some soundbar and your Bluetooth Audio transmitter.

Optical would be more work as most TVs shut off the speakers when the optical is active.

The SIMPLE Y CABLE, sound bar and Bluetooth audio transmitter is what I find most move to.
