Question

Audio is spotty

Mar 20, 2017 7:41PM PDT

Hi-

I brought my tv from Africa. Looks like something happened along the way. The image is perfect but audio comes and goes. Sometimes when you hit the back of the tv it's ok. But it's hit or miss. This happens with the XBox and cable. I replaced the HDMI cables to no avail. It's an LG 42LN5100. Help!

Go to the device manager and expand the audio, video and game controllers, uninstall the audio device (not the realtek hd audio device), and then reinstall it again.

I take it you brought the Xbox from Africa?

If so, that's bad news and a sign the TV is failing. As to cable, there are different standards all over the world so I suggest either replace this TV or try the HDMI AUDIO EXTRACTOR to play audio on something else.

Before we move to possible fixes, try setting ALL devices to send PCM STEREO.

Example link to one as this device has dozen others like it and I can't tell what country you are in.
