by ragtag7 / January 21, 2010 12:42 PM PST

OK, so, I have a compaq presario SR1950NX series with an AMD ATHLON 64 processor, in which i just installed a new graphics card, HD ATI RADEON 4670. When I installed the card into the computer, all of the sound was instantly gone!! I have tried everything to get it back but I feel like there is no hope left anymore. I have been scavenging the internet for help but I can never get anything. Is there anyone out there who can solve my problem???!!!??? I WANT SOUND!! ^_^ please help me thank you.

Does your sound device show in device manager?

and what's it's status? Is your sound on board or an add in card. If an add in card, it could be as simple as moving it to another slot. As well, was your previous graphics device on the MB? You'll want to check BIOS settings if you do have on board video or audio devices as well. More hardware information would be helpful.

IF, and a big IF, your original video is on the mother board you need to disable it. It may be using the same IRC as sound now that the new video card is there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
