Not clear from your post, why you have to reinstall your driver, nor what the history of the machine is.
- If your PC/laptop already came with windows 8, the easy solution is to go back to factory conditions va a refresh or reset (if there's a Dell specific method for your machine, use that).
- If you updated yourself from an older version of Wimdows to Windows 8 (or 8.1), it might be the wrong version of the driver (don't install your drvier, install the right one from Dell).

So maybe tell more?

Too little backstory.

What model Dell and a backstory may be required. For example I have broke driver installers by installing security software and setting the security to MAXIMUM. Dell and many machines may require a specific driver install order. For example if we just installed Windows we may not be able to install the audio driver. We have to install the motherboard chipset driver first.

Also, Dell has Quickset. As you own a Dell you know about that and its functions.

3) some other process running in background is interfering with "wizard", maybe not even associated with it.

4) your computer isn't a dell
