Audio Connecter HELP (Monitor 2 PC) miniDIN-7

Oct 28, 2006 1:28PM PDT

I am using a IBM MM75 monitor with Bose speakers.
Here is a link to the users guide.
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/aptiva/usm751_2.pdf
(pg 7and 12)
The audio connection looks like the purple keyboard/PS2 plug except that the symbol on it is a musical note followed by symbol like the Male symbol but the arrow starts from the middle of the circle and points at 3 o'clock rather then 1.5)

The audio connector is a miniDIN-7

The users guide says

Your Multimedia monitor has two
built-in speakers that are designed
to complement the audio amplifier
contained in the Aptiva L and S
series computers.

So my question is, is it possible for me to use the speakers on this monitor with my PC?
I have a Emachiness T6212.

Someone told me that I would be able to splice the cable open and connect it to an amplifier or something, but how would that connect to my computer?

Any info is appreciated thnx.
