ATTN: Yahoo Music users...

Yahoo will be shutting down their Unlimited Music Store servers on September 30, 2008. After that date all Yahoo music store users will be unable to complete the reauthorization procedure. This means you may not be able to transfer your purchased music to a new computer, reinstall your operating system, recover your music in case of corruption/accidental deletion, or potentially even upgrade your operating system and still maintain your music collection.

At this time, Yahoo is therefore suggesting that all former Yahoo music store customers burn their purchased music to CD (an Audio CD, not a Data CD), and then rip the music back to their hard drives in an unprotected format in order to ensure that the music will remain playable through any changes the transpire after September 30th. And, as usual, you should ensure you maintain a backup copy of any content you cannot afford to lose.
