Attempting a PC Concept.

Hey guys i'm new here and was wondering if anyone had any houghts about this setup, I would like to use it for casual video/music editing as that's what I'm starting to do, and was wondering on idea's of hardware that would be more compatible/cheaper and such, I'm planning on studying Audio Visual Tech next year and am just looking for a startup rig, and would like it to last a fair amount of time and be capable enough for me not to crash it with my semi-ignorant copmputer usage... any thoughts are welcome be it critique, compliment or insult.

Crash?

Sorry but I could bet this would be running Windows. Given the constant pleas for help even with Windows 7 I wonder if there is any hope of crash proofing by choice of components.

But let me share my now dated work horse. It's a dv4999t that I picked up for 369 US bucks and added a 120 buck Zotac GT240 1GB fanless card (didn't want more noise) and a few more sticks of RAM (now at 4GB) plus Windows 7 Home 64 bit I have a solid work horse, occasional gamer for not much.

It's been very stable and quiet and a joy to use.
Bob
