won't work on AHCI. Set i/f for it to IDE or SATA.
I purchased a "A-DATA ASINTS-80GM-CSA 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive" online for the sole purpose of installing my os on it to reduce boot time. having read all the information of the drive and the installation guides, I went ahead and tried setting it up only to end up with one of the most irritating afternoons I've had in months. I unplugged my only other HDD, plugged in the SATA cable and power cable into the new SSD and changed the BIOS settings to ACHI, I changed the boot order to the CD/DVD drive where I have the reinstallation Windows 7 home premium 64 bit CD that came with my original system sitting and no matter what I've done however, I always ultimately end up sitting in front of a screen with the error:
"<span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> <span id="INSERTION_MARKER">Reboot and <span id="INSERTION_MARKER"><span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot drive and press any key"
<span id="INSERTION_MARKER"><span id="INSERTION_MARKER">
My motherboard is an: Asus M4A77TD, which does support SSD's. The drive always shows up in the bios as being connected to a SATA port but the error persists and I can't install Windows on it no matter what I try.
