Nov 27, 2004 7:59PM PST

I have connected the external hard drive to the rear panel USB port on my HP 8705 with ME OS and I receive a message that says it can't find the file USBSTOR.sys...where can I get this file ?

From memory, I think this issue is noted at http://www.usbman.com

Just asking, did you try typing that USBSTOR.SYS into google.com? Sometimes you find your answer without asking a forum.

A little warning...

In another discussion, a member worked very hard for weeks trying to get their USB drive to work. At the end we find the machine did not have USB 2.0 and the drive required such.

A misconception is that USB 2.0 devices might work on USB 1.1, but this is rarely true.
