I say back out now while you can. Cable should be faster if they are not using DSL as their internet service (yes some do use DSL).

ATT installed wireless internet about 3 weeks ago as part of home UVERSE service. Installed in new apt. building Southern Calif that is set up for wireless. My first time for wireless. I am paying for download speed level that is "approximately 10" per ATT rep. It seems very slow for what is supposed to be a quite usable speed. ROUTER BOX IS 2WIRE 3800HGV
Actual speed test sites are measuring values like 264, 321, 447, 457, 535, 623 I don't appear to be achieving the speed I'm paying for. It would be an understatement if I said ATT tech service has been inadequate re: an answer other than trying to upsell from whatever level I have had.
IS THE 2WIRE ROUTER ADEQUATE?
ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS PROBLEM?
Can anyone give me a clue about what I should or could do. Last resort would be switch to Time-Warner, but I'm not sure they are any better.
Thanks for any assistance on this issue.
FYI
My computer is a Mac pre-intel PPC with OSX 10.4.11 if that is of any use.
