ATT high speed internet has changed

Jul 18, 2009 8:06PM PDT

I downloaded IE8 and then found that I couldn't access ATT as I had before. We have 3 people on this computer, each had their individual icons on the desktop and could get on the site of their choice individually.

After downloading IE8 this wasn't possible so I contacted ATT chat help. They informed me that "AT&T Yahoo! Browser has reached end of it's life, we can not install it anymore."

I tried many ways and even contacted the chat line again and rec'd approximately the same response.

ATT Chat said that we could set up individual Browsers for example: IE8 for one person, FireFox for another, and for the third person (I don't know another). Isn't that crazy.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions to make life easier for 3 identites on ATT at my house?

(PS: for the time being I did a System Restore to get back the old icons and settings)

Thank you.

As things changed people used to use the IDENTITIES feature of Outlook Express to share the computer. Later as Windows changed this feature broke and problems like yours began to show up as the owners didn't want to have a Windows Account per user.

Does each user have their own Windows account?

New ATT - Windows ID

I don't believe we do have Windows ID's.

If you think that might be a solution, we'll certainly give it a try.

Then its likely to be fixable.

Some don't like that but since about 2000...

Make a new Windows user account and test it there.
