Place it on its charger and hope.

And hope there is a receipt handy to return or exchange it. Many of these are just built in mass with no support or repair possible. For some it's the first lesson about low cost disposable units.

ATIVA Mobil IT 2GB MP3 Player

Left in plugged in for awhile and kept jiggling the connections and presto it just turned on after I tried to turn it on the last time. Might have been so "dead" that it needed time plugged in. Then after it turned on you could see the battery icon flashing to show that it was still charging. Still hanging on the receipt though.

These get really bad reviews, even on the Office Depot site -- and they sell the damned things.

The ATIVA Mobil IT 2GB MP3 Player Doesn't Do Anything!
Jul 17, 2011 7:13AM PDT

I've had the same problem described in previous posts here. Left the player plugged in to my computer overnight, tried it in different USB ports, unplugged it a few times & rebooted my computer to see if it would recognize the player when rebooted. I think a suit should be filed against the manufacturer for selling something that doesn't work!!!

I would like to know if you would happen to know how to put lyrics on the Mp3 Player. If you do you can message me at my email address which is naprager@yahoo.com. Make sure you do not capitalize anything on my E-mail address. Thank you so much...
