Question

AT&T GigaPower Arris NVG599 and Netgear N600

Nov 22, 2016 9:11AM PST

Good afternoon: My AT&T Gigapower Arris NVG599 Modem / Router is in the main living room of the house and I get great reception, Wireless speeds of up to 400mbps. My AT&T Digital Life Box is in my computer / XBOX / room and I would like to set up my Netgear N600 as a Bridge so that I can Ethernet into. Maybe i am using the wrong term. I would like to make the Netgear N600 an access point so that I can Hard wire into its ethernet ports. Can you Gentle woman/man point me in the write direction please? thank you for your help.

Clarification Request
There is no step by step for this.

I'd use the second router as a WAP instead. How to do that is either in the product manual (most don't document it) or you can google the following for articles which you read till you find the one you understand.

"How to use a router as a WAP?"

NVG599 vs N600

So you are saying that the Netgear N600 is a better router/Modem then the NVG599 Arris router/Modem? they both can handle Gig speeds.

Nope.

I only wrote how to find out how to turn a router into a WAP. The router as a WAP can still do tricks such as NAS on USB, etc.

You wrote "I would like to set up my Netgear N600 as a Bridge" which after reading your post I elected not to correct you there. The NVG599 is more likely to be set to bridge mode but I don't know why one would that today.

So I skipped correcting you and offered the usual what most folk would do answer.

You want to setup the N600 as a WAP. This is a well done topic or procedure.

You first check your N600's manual or just hit the google with the phrase "How do I use a router as a WAP?"
