Cingular/AT&T is not shutting down service to TDMA anytime soon. You might be relying of other phone networks instead. They still support Analog handsets which have not been sold for several years. The only drawback w/ the older phones is that you may pay more roaming fees in some areas that may have no roam areas (ie at no additional charge). As long as your phone works, you can keep your current plan. Please understand that if your phone has to be replaced, you will not be able to purchase a new TDMA phone directly from Cingular.
