AT&T 8525 in Japan

I need to know if I can use the AT&T 8525 in Japan? Thanks,

Japan uses the 2100 WCDMA/UMTS frequency for voice and data and the At&t/Cingular 8525 does support this frequency as well as quad band GSM. No need for GSM bands while in Japan.

Just got back from Tokyo, and called my wife a few times using the AT&T 8525.... works and is as clear as a land line.
