Question

Asus X79-Deluxe beep signal un characterized

Sep 18, 2017 1:00AM PDT

Hello,
I am having a problem with my workstation. It gives a beep signal that I could not find the meaning on manuals for my Asus X79-Deluxe motherboard. I tried removing harddisks, VGA card, memories to see if computer boots but it does not. I did not try the CPU. Since it gives a CPU beep when it is removed. How can I make sure if this is a motherboard issue or CPU?
Here I have a video of the computer beep signal:

If anyone has any idea what it is about I appreciate to give me some tip.

Best,
Parham

There are a few led's on that mobo.
Any of them show anything useful?

The CPU LED blinks on the start but then it goes off. Then VGA LED goes on and stays, after that Boot_device_led turns on and stays. I checked the VGA card on another machine. It is working and even without that the VGA led goes on.

What does the manual say about the lights?

It says, if an error is found the LED will stay lit up until the until the problem is solved.

It seems the first error the bios is finding is with the vga.
If you have a spare vga card swap it in.
I suspect with no vga installed the light is normal.
Is this an old or new build?

VGA is fine

It is the same with or without VGA. I tested VGA on a separate machine and it worked fine. Its a three years old workstation. I assume its something with MB! Do you think also?

Could very well be.
I'd change the cmos battery first since it's a cheap test.
