Question

Asus X205ta (non removable) battery not charging, indicator

Hi,
I'll begin from where it started.
A month ago, due to a pull from my socket, my charger's poles bended slightly inwards.

However, the charger was still working, and the laptop was charging fine.

Gradually, a few days ago, the charger had issues charging the laptop. I had to carefully plug it in the socket, sometimes diagonally. After much effort, it would charge.

But today, it stopped altogether. When I plug it in, the laptop doesn't charge, but the battery indicator blinks.

Amy help will be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
Ribhu

I have the similar x202e and can remove the battery.

Yes I have to open the case but the battery inside did have a plug so it was no big deal to unplug it for a test.

However the bad news is that jack repair is hit and miss with few repair shops willing to do the work. This means that most of the time they'll replace the mainboard.

That's typical for a strained power plug.

It could be a cracked solder joint, definitely would be best to replace the jack and if no shop will do that work, you replace the mainboard.

That said, I did have a client that asked if a BIOS setting could help. Sorry but no.
