Question

Asus Wireless router does not allow parental controls iPod

by rutique / April 21, 2015 2:55 PM PDT

Hi; Have an Asus router. I have set up Parental controls schedule for iPad, laptop and Android phone. Works perfect. but one of my sons has an iPod and as soon as I add the iPod to the schedule, it blocks his access completely. It's all or nothing for that one iPod. As long as the iPod is not included in the Parental Control section, it works fine. As soon as I restrict one day, or a certain hour, it restricts it completely! We've called Asus three times, every time they give us a different solution............ but none worked! any ideas on how to fix it???
Thanks

Maybe for this one you'll have to enable a different system. That is, forget the router and use ipod native parental controls.

Hi Bob; thank you for your reply. Asus customer service says that it is compatible with iPods and Apple products. This is why I bought this specific router.

Then back to Asus.

When I find a system that doesn't work I try other methods. I understand you want Asus to perform so let's let them work it out for you.

also where two iPods are used, then set it using the Mac Address, instead of device name or currently assigned DHCP address. You may have to turn on Mac Address ability some other place in the router.
