Resolved Question

ASUS Vivobook S - Keyboard

Aug 13, 2018 10:10AM PDT

Yesterday I was looking for a laptop and found this one:

Brand: ASUS
Series: Vivobook S
Model: S510UN-MS52

I honestly don't mind the VGA camera since overall it has what I was looking for, and it's cheap, the issue is while looking for reviews I saw an on-going comment about how the keyboard squashes-in while typing, as if it had no support below, I even saw a video where that was shown and it looks horrible.

My questions are:

1.- Is that problem still present in the model I mentioned?

2.- If so, is there a Do It Yourself way to fix it?

Thank you!

I don't see that model in stores

But yes. Many laptops have a bit of flex in the keyboard as the goal is thin and light. This can annoy some but others don't mind. As to fixing it, I'm going with no. It would void the warranty and possibly create heat problems.

I suggest you go test it.

I've used such light machines on travel and didn't find it objectionable. As to you fixing it, I don't know your skill level plus there is no web page or YouTube with folk beefing it up. I think a mechanical engineer and some carbon fiber struts might help but that's just me musing and not adding much value.
