That is most definitely a display failure, so if the thing is only 10 days old, you should probably be able to swap it out for a new one, or at the very least have the display replaced under warranty. Don't email them, CALL them with an issue like this. Most of the time the email support people aren't able to authorize this kind of thing anyway.
My Asus U33JC display failed after about 10 days of use. It has jumpy horizontal lines on the right side of the screen. Tried updating the driver but mine was the latest. The lines do not show up on an external monitor. I assume the LCD is bad. Emailed Asus May 5,2011. Guess I'll find out what their customer service is like.
