Question

Asus RT-AC68U not recognized as network

Apr 10, 2018 1:28PM PDT

I've been keeping up with the firmware updates for my Asus RT-AC68U but it seems that as of the last one it is no longer working as a router for my Ethernet connection. It's seen by Windows 7 as an internet connection with no network and it lists itself as a wireless network. If I change it to an access point then I lose my internet connection because it wants a separate router for that.
Is there a work around or do I have the settings all wrong?? I love the router for it's speed but this Mesh thing they've added is screwing me up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all.

Why not go back to what worked?

Many router makers offer the old firmware so go back to what worked.

As to your setup, only you know your goals and what is your Internet source. I can't tell from your post.

I went back two firmwares to January 2018 trying to get back the old settings. No luck

Going back will not return to old settings.

For settings I always had to re-enter the settings.
