Asus overheating problem

Aug 4, 2015 12:00AM PDT

I have Asus K52J lap.
CPU is overheating and big cu wire that sinks heat is very very hot.
I already did this:
-reinstalled Windows
-changed thermal paste
-cleansed cooler from dust

Also, I installed RealTemp program, and temperature is 70-80 C
even 85 when load is high. And sometimes lap get turned off
Any ideas?

Answer
May need the original OS.

A stock Windows may be missing some driver to control clock rates as the temp goes up. Retest with the factory issued OS. No, this is not Windows. It's the Windows they supplied with all the drivers and more.

Then the news is grim.

Either there's some misunderstanding about the temp, there is nothing odd about higher temps compared to a desktop (laptops tend to run hotter), this is not the factory restore media that was used or there is an issue that will need new fans or boards.

Under load that temp is expected. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-K52JR-SX059V-Notebook.25702.0.html looks like it hit 90 under load.

Why do you think your readings are too high?

sure it's set on C and not F?

check how accurate the temp program is. Leave computer off overnight, then when it boots immedately check the CPU and hard drive temps. Next night let the computer "sleep" so you can get a quicker "wakeup" and check the temps. They should be 5-10 degrees of ambient room temperature.

Any freezes or shutdowns happening?

When I starts Windows, temperature is 36. And then rise to 75. After that on high loads reach 90 and shuts off.
This morning when I started Win, strange noise produces by cooler. I dont now, maybe he is the problem...
