Question

Asus laptop not charging?

My laptop is 3 years old only been used a handful of times. after 2 months of having it one day it was frozen and still had the clicking sound then when I'd turn it off then back on it would have done what I wanted it to do previously since then it has not been used I'm trying to charge it and the charge light is not on and it is not turning on. Is there a way I can make it work

Since the charge light is out, it's either a bad charger, no power to the charger, old battery (3 years can be old if you used the battery over this time) or a motherboard failure.

Try the charger and laptop on a known good outlet to start. Then ask a person with a Volt meter to test the charger.

And in the range that you expect to see from the charge and measure the output of the charger. If this isn't sufficient then you need to have more training. There are YouTubes if training is not available in your city.

Asus gave me the solution for charging problems

Forget about the ACPI compliant file. I went though 12 different erase and replace methods and it didn't work.

1- Go to Control Pannel
2- Find ATK file, right click on it and uninstall
The computer will restart by itself.
3- go to the following address:
http://www.asus.com/Laptops/YOUR MODEL EX: X200MA/Helpdesk_Download/
4- go down the list and find the ATK ZIP file and download to your computer.
5- Install it and that's it. My Labtop is working fine.
