Asus Eee netbook 1005HA-window too big for screen

All was fine until someone pushed something this morning, trying to get my netbook attached to their projector for a presentation. Now the windows (yes, Windows XP Home Edition, and Outlook Express as well)are too "tall", so that I cannot see the bottom tool bar at the same time as the top tool bar. I have looked everywhere for a fix and nothing works. The Alt+space opens the box, but not with the "size" option available (it's dim). The "offender" is not offering to help. I would really appreciate your help--something simple, as I would not dream of doing one of the suggested approaches of rewriting some kind of code (if I even knew what it meant!!)

Thank you in advance! You all are usually just terrific!

Change The Screen Resolution..

RIGHT click on a blank area of the desktop, choose "Properties", then click on the "Settings" tab.. Once there, move the Screen Resolution slider to something like 1024 X 768, then click on apply, then OK. (Or pressing the "Enter" key should also execute the change.)

Hope this helps.
