Question

ASUS Dock for Nexus 7 2013 HDMI Cable Question

Aug 25, 2014 10:20PM PDT

I am thinking of getting this for my Nexus 7 2013 tablet. What I wanted to know was.......

HDMI Cable doesn't come with this accessory. I have no idea what HDMI cable is capable of doing....is there anyway to connect a HDMI cable to a USB port? Please send me a link. I want to conncect it to a LCD projector that only has a USB port.

If the specs for the overhead projector is needed I will gladly re-post it here.

I've never seen a projector with USB. All projector I've seen come with HDMI, DVI or VGA for their video input. USB isn't video input.
So are you sure? Please post a link to the specs from the makers site (not from the shop where you bought it)..

The projector is an older model of the EPSON EB-S12. I would send a link but the ones I found are a newer version with an HDMI Plug. I took pictures but they dont allow picture posting on Message Posts....here are the specs on the plugs on the back:

From Left to Right:

Audio plug (3 ports for white red & yellow cables), A video port (The Pre-USB standard plug) , USB Type A & type b (one that looks like a regular usb and another one like a dsl female plug) and the good ol VGA plug with screw attachments on the side.

I'm assuming then that the USB plug doesn't work with a usb to usb plug, cause I have a laptop from 2005 that I tried to connect to it for a quick presentation.

I'm thinking what about a HDMI converter for one of the female ports.....like a HDMI to VGA? Do they have something like that?

ChromeCast and other such devices are how we project from tablets. This is rather well done and the accepted way but once in a while a person new to all this races off in a new direction. That is, USB? No.

Let's hear more about the projector as well.

ChromCast does look amazing, I would get one myself right away, but my area of stay (California) is in another country and I'm currently staying in an Underdeveloped country, doing presentations and they have very minimal advancements out here and its real slow also. Remember when 1 terabyte portable drives came out? It took another 2 years for that to arrive out here....thats how slow it is.

I've yet to see mail take years to arrive.

The chromecast has been spotted in almost every country. Even if one carries it in on a trip or postal service.
