Asus b53s lcd backlight shuts off after driver update.

i just updated the ati graphics driver to my asus b53s when the lcd backlight suddenly shuts off and doesn't turn back on. i waited several minutes for the update to complete and pressed enter to reboot the system hoping the backlight would turn back on, but it still didn't turn back on. any idea as to why this is happening? any help is greatly appreciated.

yes. it's supposed to be a driver update for windows 8. should i wait until i install windows 8 to update the driver?

I'm guessing this is your first encounter with drivers from Microsoft. It's about as good as some of their other software. Works for most but not all.
