assistance with choosing a laptop 4 video editing

Going to buy a laptop for video editing. Would like for it to be durable, mid-sized, and have enough power/speed/memory to do video editing. Can you suggest one for around $800 to $1200 ? Doesn't matter which brand, however I would like one that is highly rated. Thank you!

Just one thing.

I used my Acer ter-600 with P3-600, 256MB for video editing on the road for years so today's laptops are now much better. You'd be hard pressed to find something new that is less than old "Paint."

Today I'd love to have a dual core unit but within a month we'll see the dual core Turion so that may be da' bomb.

Go with the NEW Mac Mini. The new dual core processors will be nice for doing what you are doing. You can also upgrade almost everything in there. Starts at $599, you need to buy a keyboard, mouse, and moniter. I have a iMac and it is great for editing video. I hope you consider the Mac mini.
