1. Restore to factory condition.
2. Canned air and if not enough, the million mile work (heatsink compound and deep cleaning.)

not done restore yet I am going to remove all the films and music and pictures to a portable hd first.

Mechanical engineering on a laptop is for a portable thing with lots more to hold it together. A desktop sits there. Good desktop, stay.
