Arranging photos in My Pictures

I am using Windows XP and have placed many photos in different folders in My Pictures (within My Documents). I have never found a way to keep the photos in the order that I enter them into the folder. Each time I reopen the folder the photos are arranged alphabetically.
Does anyone know how to "freeze" the photographs in the order I placed them?
With thanks,
Gita Rotenberg

Let me be clearer.

EXPLORER doesn't have an unsorted or "remember it the way I told you" view. This extends to My Pictures and more "apps" in Windows.

Many wonder why this didn't do that. Suffice it to say that you are asking for something that isn't there.

WORKAROUND. Rename the pictures to start with numbers.
