Arranging digital photos Windows me

by cesarino / December 9, 2004 2:46 AM PST

Whenever I use a photo relay program (Roxio Photo Relay) I am able to burn the pictures in the right order for a slideshow on my computer. However, when I burn them to a cd they come out in the numerical order that they are in the original file. If I try to reorder them in ACDsee a photo program and then do a select all and move them to a file. They get reordered again into an original numerical sequence. My question is how can I keep them in the same reordered sequence without renaming all the files? new member thanks

You didn't tell what program you were using to examine this CD. For instance, Explorer does not have a NO SORTING option.

I am using windows me. Also Roxio..photo relay. I open the cd by right clicking on the cd icon and find the files in numerical order. If I click on the slideshow icon they come out in the order I made in the program. If I burn them in numerical order I do not get the same result on my panasonic dvd player on my tv.

It's Windows doing a sort.

I've only known one way of seeing the unsorted list in Windows or any Windows "Open" dialogue and that is to open the Command window (DOS) and type DIR.

There is no cure for this issue.

However, if the Photo CD creation software is not creating your slideshow in the order you wish, you'll have to take this up with the software's maker.

In reply to: My bet.

What I did was to rename the files by changing their number in the order I put them in the photo program and then burned them to a cd and that worked..however, it is not practical if you have 106 files for a slideshow...........so what I have been doing,is to make a video cd slideshow
instead ( roxio photo impressions ) that worked. But I liked the photo relay program which is okay if you just use it on the computer. I guess there is no easy solution to this. thanks for your input.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
