ARGHH! Too many Tuners!!

Mar 8, 2009 5:33AM PDT

Hey,

If anybody can help me choose a USB TV tuner that doesn't suck, it would be much appreciated. I have an ACER Aspire One netbook with XP SP3, so all my specs are about average. This, however prevents me from using a PCI card or a Tuner with weird drivers only found on the CD.

The bottom line is that I need a Plug and Play USB TV Tuner with limited funtionality. Because I use a digital cable box the only channel I need it to tune to is 3 and I need no other inputs than coaxial.

The Problem I've been having is all day as I scour the net for a decent tuner the reviews are all for Vista, and everybody simply whines: "It doesn't work... boo, hoo". Frankly I don't give a rats hind legs about Vista.

Since I usually swear by open source software and hardware which has "hit it a couple of times" as the tech support advice (which usually works), I have finally gotten tired and I seek, for the first time, bugless hardware and user-friendly software recommended in a forum on a reputable site.

Oh, and I don't want to spend over $100.

Too much to ask... we'll see.
