Question

Are unlocked quadband phones still worth buying?

by ElizabethRE / September 1, 2011 1:39 PM PDT

I have an unlocked quadband moto RazV3 which I bought five years ago. When I travel to the UK I just buy a sim card over there and everything works fine. I'm thinking of replacing this phone but am not sure if I should still go for an unlocked/quadband type of phone. I don't use the internet much, just check emails, flights, weather etc. My fear is that if I buy one of these new (android??) phones It'll be accessing the www all the time. I'm not very tech savvy so any helpful info or suggestions would be great.

...then why upgrade? The only reason you would have to upgrade is to achieve 3G or higher data speeds that your old Razr is not capable of, which in any case doesn't sound like you truly require in your travels. YMMV.

It is so difficult to text and email with the RAZV3. I would like a phone with a keyboard. Also
I think it's getting worn. I guess I'm looking for sugestions of phones that might suit my needs
and not be too expensive.
