General discussion

Are these two printers basically the same thing?

Dec 26, 2004 1:07PM PST

There are two printers that I really like, the Epson Stylus RX600($299) and the Epson Stylus R300($199). It seems that they are the same, except that the RX600 has a scanner/copier. I'm not really sure if I need the scanner or not, so I'm still deciding on which one to get. They both seem very similar to me, does anybody else know much about these 2 printers?

Pick one

If you see that a scanner/copier is supplied by one and not the other than makes them very different. The printing side is possibility the same "engine" just check the specs for dpi/resolution output. AND yes it is very likely they use similar/same engine across models with the added features supplied. But really, if you don't plan to use extra features, why pay for them, just pick the one that best suits your needs.

I can't find many reviews on the web...

The R300 gets good reviews, the RX600 doesn't. Unless space is really a problem, I never like all-in-one units.
Usually not the best of any one part- if one part breaks, whole thing could be unusable, etc. chuck

What's wrong with the RX600?

I understand that all-in-one units may not be that good, but is there any other reasons that the RX600 gets bad reviews? How is its' print quality compared to other printers of the same class and price?

Did you read the reviews?

I can only point you to information and how to use a search engine. chuck
