Question

Are the stands for UN46F8000 AF & BF models interchangeable?

Aug 14, 2014 9:51AM PDT

I'm soon to pick up a UN46F8000BF TV that was hanging on a now bankrupt store's wall. So I need to purchase a stand. They're relatively expensive, so I'm looking at the used market, where stands for both the AF and BF models are available. Checking the measurement specs on Samsung's site, the two models look identical except the AF's are given in centimeters and the BF's in inches. That suggests same TV, different markets. But I don't want to assume, so wonder if the two model's stands are identical and thus interchangeable or not. Customer service says the stands are proprietary and thus not interchangeable, but that answer makes me wonder if they actually know or are just giving a party line. Would someone know or be able to find out? Thanks,

Head to samsungparts.com and find that part on both models. Compare the part number.

So not an US model.

That means that the reply from the Ambassador will likely be to contact Samsung in your country but such minutia is usually just that.

Part numbers

Samsung Parts sent me part numbers for what they sell in the U.S., but the specs for the three stand parts (other than the screws) show "UF8000 46,EUROPE/NTSC" or "UF8000 46,EUROPE." Makes me wonder if the part is universal for all 46" F8000's.

After all this, why not just get the part for this model?

Price

The AF stand on eBay is $10-15 cheaper than the BF ones, so why not ask?

Sure, ask.

Make the call and see if you can find out. Here the time invested is worth something as well.

Still wondering why it was not with the TV in the first place.

Because the TV was wall mounted and only came with a remote

After several back and forths, i.e., persistence here and patience there, Parts has confirmed they are the same.

Good they confirmed.

BTW, if it doesn't work out, and mind you this is a Plan B, those generic mounts work fine here. Still begs the question how it ended up missing. Guess those that set it up, sold it on Ebay.
