Are MACs good for Web/Game Design or Should I stick with PC?

by 00000000000jb / May 3, 2007 12:27 PM PDT

I need help on find a powerful yet not too expensive laptop (1500 -2500). I am a student studying interactive design and game development (web design and game design) and I've had several problems with my laptop
(volume loss and crashing) and for that reason I am looking to sale it
to buy a new computer with more power. I'm considering
purchasing a MacBook Pro but I don't know how well web and 3d design software perform on Macs. If I don't purchase a MacBook Pro then I was considering purchasing a highend laptop. Are Macs ideal for
interactive design or should I stick with a notebook?

Here is my currently laptops specs:

HP Pavilion zv6000
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 1.79 GHz processor
1.5GB of PC2700 RAM
256MB ATI Xpress 200m video
8x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW drive
15.4" wide screen (BrightView)
100 GB 4200 RPM Hard Drive
Windows XP Home
8 cell battery

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
