Are DSLR's Dead?

Jul 2, 2011 12:35AM PDT

So I just purchased my first DSLR (canon rebel EOS T3) and I read an article about how people are moving away from DSLR's for micro system camera's. So my question is, Did I just purchase something that will be gone off the market as far as lens's and flash guns in a few years? Or are the DSLR's still going to be around.

Don't Get The Shovel Out Yet

The DSLR camera is not ready to be buried.

The people who migrate from point and shoot and want small cameras will look to the micro system cameras.
The people who want all the features of a DSLR camera will continue to buy DSLR cameras.

The professional photographers will stay with the DSLR.
That alone will keep production going.
