ARE CNET FORUMS BROKEN???

Sep 16, 2005 12:22PM PDT

The Cnet site is broken......

I can't find any forum here to voice this so I'll
post it here in the hopes a moderator or someone
can answer me.

I have several discussions tracked but have never
ever received a email about replies despite setting
the forum to do that .... The site even says it will
send an email.

Is it broken?

Somewhat...

I'm currently receiving e-mail notification of my tracked threads, but the site has been experiencing difficulties for the past few days...pages cannot be found, slow load times, search engine malfunctioning, etc. Lee Koo, the head moderator, said that the engineers were really swamped...looks like this is why. Hopefully everything will be back to normal early next week. In the mean time, try checking your spam settings or having the notifications sent to another e-mail, just to make sure it's not on your end.

Simple answer is YES! :(

In addition to timing out and page not found in going from one link to the next that's been reported for days now, today pages are loading at an extremely slow pace. In going from one link to another it appears everything is being loaded again... example the "Log Out" button is dimmed out and eventually loads again. Don't know a better way to describe this.

Addendum...

The slow loading and repopulating when going from one link to another today seems to affect Internet Explorer more than Firefox... Firefox 1.0.6 seems pretty much normal in that regard.
